LinkedIn Pixel is LinkedIn's browser-side tracking tool for businesses and advertisers to measure and optimize social media campaigns across LinkedIn.

Connect Heyflow with LinkedIn Pixel to send conversion data from Heyflow directly to your LinkedIn Ad Manager account. This helps you track user interactions accurately and optimize your campaigns based on real-time insights.

With Heyflow's LinkedIn Pixel integration, you can:

  1. Send Heyflow conversion data directly to LinkedIn
Send conversions from Heyflow straight into your LinkedIn Ad Manager account — no coding or external tools needed.

  2. Track default lifecycle events in LinkedIn
Track Heyflow’s default events (page views & submissions) in LinkedIn.

Setup

Step 1: Create and Set Up LinkedIn Pixel

  1. Access LinkedIn Campaign Manager and create an account. This should take no longer than 3 minutes.

  2. After the account creation, you will be prompted to create a new campaign. As this is not crucial for the connection with your heyflow, you can simply click on the back button in the upper left corner.

  3. In the left-side navigation panel, click on “Measurement”. Then choose "Insight Tag Conversion".

Step 2: Create Page View Event

  1. Click on "Create Conversion" to create your first conversion event.

  2. Choose a name and select "View Content" as your primary conversion event. Then you can adjust settings as needed before clicking on "Next step".

  3. In the next window, navigate to "Manual conversion setup" and click on "Event-Specific Pixel". Here you'll find a code snippet which includes the Conversion ID.

  4. Copy the Conversion ID, go back to your heyflow and paste it into the "Page View Conversion ID" section.

  5. In the third window, you can connect your conversion with a campaign (or skip this step). You can always create and connect a campaign at a later stage. Click on "Create" to finalize the first conversion event.

Step 3: Create Submit Event

  • Now we can go through the same process again to create the conversion for the Submit Event. Click on "Create Conversion" and "Insight Tag conversion" to get started.

  • Select e.g. "Submit Application" as your primary conversion event, give it a name and continue the setup as per the last step.

  • In the "Event-Specific Pixel" tab, extract the second Conversion ID.

Copy the ID, go back to your heyflow and paste it under the "Submit Event Conversion ID" section.

Step 4: Extract the LinkedIn Partner ID

  1. In the left-side navigation panel, go to "Data" and click on "Signals Manager".

  2. Click on “Insights Tag” to choose how to install your tag. Now, there are many ways of getting the partner ID. The easiest is to click on "I will use a tag manager" and simply copy pasting the ID here.

  3. Copy the partner ID, paste it into your heyflow and click "Save changes". Don't forget to republish your flow afterwards!

Step 5: Finalize and Test

  1. Your setup is now completed! You can now do a quick run-through of your heyflow to make sure the events are tracked in the LinkedIn Campaign Manager.

  2. Once the status changes to "Active", you know that your LinkedIn Pixel is connected correctly and that the events safely arrive in LinkedIn.

  3. Congratulations! You have connected your pixel to your heyflow and can start launching LinkedIn ad campaigns!

Note: It can take up to 5 minutes for the first event to land in LinkedIn. Make sure to refresh the page when testing.

Troubleshooting

I don't see any events

There may be several reasons for this:

  • Changes not published yet: First, make sure that your flow has been republished after you have made changes to the integration.

  • Cookies declined: The pixel does not work if a user has declined the tracking cookies. Make sure you accept the cookies to see your test events, for example, or try again in a different browser.

💡 Tip: Use the LinkedIn Pixel Helper. This is a plugin that checks websites for installed LinkedIn Insight Tags and inspects the correct implementation.
