The Microsoft Ads integration enables you to send conversion data from Heyflow directly to your Microsoft Ads (Bing Ads) account. With Universal Event Tracking (UET), you can measure key user interactions, optimize your campaigns with real-time insights, and enhance targeting accuracy across the Microsoft Advertising network.

Setup

Step 1: Create a UET Tag in Microsoft Ads

If you have already created conversions in Microsoft Ads before, you can simply proceed as follows:

  1. Log into your Microsoft Ads account.

  2. In the top left menu of the dashboard, go to Conversions β†’ UET tag.

  3. Click on Default tag and give your tag a name and optional description.

  4. Copy the tag ID

If you're using Microsoft Ads for the first time, the setup is slightly different in the beginning.

  1. You'll be asked right away to set up a conversion goal:

  2. After a number of straightforward questions, you'll eventually be asked about enhanced conversions:
    ​

  3. Here, we recommend turning the enhanced conversions on, since it improves the accuracy of your conversions. Furthermore, the setup in Heyflow regarding enhanced conversions is very straightforward as well.

  4. Finally, you'll arrive at the UET Tag, where you should choose "Add the tag manually". This will give you a code snippet which contains the UET ID:

Step 2: Connect your heyflow

  1. In Heyflow, click on Connect to access your integrations.

  2. Under Tracking select Microsoft Ads.

  3. Click on Connect and republish your flow. Congratulations, you've set up your Microsoft Ads integration in Heyflow!

Step 3: Enable enhanced conversions (optional)

Enhanced Conversions improve attribution by sending hashed, user-provided data along to Microsoft Ads along with the UET signal. In the Microsoft UET integration, access the Field Mapping tab and map the relevant fields from your flow to the following user data in the Microsoft UET Data fields:

  • Email,

  • Phone

Save changes and republish your flow.

πŸ”Ž Heyflow automatically hashes this data before sending it to Microsoft Ads. You should update your privacy policy to inform users that hashed customer data may be shared with Microsoft for advertising purposes.


Troubleshooting

I don't see any events

There may be several reasons for this:

  • Changes not published yet: First, make sure that your flow has been republished after you have made changes to the integration.

  • Cookies declined: The pixel does not work if a user has declined the tracking cookies. Make sure you accept the cookies to see your test events, for example, or try again in a different browser.
