Using Anchor Links in Heyflow

Use anchor links to guide visitors to the right section of your landing page.

Anchor links let visitors navigate to a specific block on the same page — or back to the top — at the click of a button. You can set the scroll to happen instantly or with a smooth animation. In Heyflow, you add anchor links via the Link Button or Universal Button, making them a useful tool for longer, multi-section landing pages.

For example, when a visitor clicks "See Reviews" and the page scrolls to your testimonials section, or clicks "Get a Quote" and the form scrolls into view — that's anchor linking in action. Less friction means more engagement, and more engagement means better conversion rates.


Why Anchor Links Matter

On a long landing page, anchor links do three things well:

  • Navigation: Visitors find what they're looking for without endless scrolling — especially on mobile.

  • Conversion: Clicking "Book a Demo" and landing directly on the form removes a step that might otherwise cause drop-off.

  • Trust: Letting visitors jump to testimonials or social proof on their own terms feels less pushy — and often converts better.

For lead generation pages, the sections worth anchor-linking are the ones that build confidence and reduce hesitation:

  • The lead form or main CTA

  • Testimonials and reviews

  • Key benefits or how it works

  • FAQs

  • Logos of clients or partners


Setting Up Anchor Links in Heyflow

Anchor links in Heyflow use the Scroll to Block or Scroll to Top navigation action, available on Link Buttons and Universal Buttons. Scroll to Block is the core of anchor link navigation — it's what lets you point visitors to exactly the right section of your landing page.

Scroll to Block

Use this to scroll a visitor to a specific section of your landing page — for example, a "Read what our customers say" button that jumps straight to your testimonials, or a "Get started" button that drops them directly into your lead form.

  1. Select your Link Button or Universal Button.

  2. Go to its "Navigation" settings and open the action dropdown.

  3. Choose "Scroll to Block".

  4. Configure the three options:

    • Target block — the block you want to scroll to.

    • Scroll behavior — "Smooth" for an animated scroll, or "Instant" to jump immediately.

    • Block alignment — align the viewport to the "Top", "Center", or "Bottom" of the target block.

💡 Scroll to Block only works within the same page. You cannot scroll to a block on a different page.

Use this to bring visitors back to the top of the page — useful for a "Back to Top" button at the end of a long landing page.

  1. Select your Link Button or Universal Button.

  2. Go to its "Navigation" settings and open the action dropdown.

  3. Choose "Scroll to Top".

  4. Set the Scroll behavior — "Smooth" or "Instant".


Take It Further: Sticky Navigation Bars

If you're building a long landing page, consider using a Sticky Bar Block as a persistent navigation menu. Add Link Buttons inside it — one for each key section of your page — and set each one to "Scroll to Block". The bar stays visible as visitors scroll, giving them one-click access to any section at any time.
