This guide explains how to connect a domain purchased from Strato, a German hosting provider, to your Heyflow.

Connecting a subdomain
Log in to your Strato account and click on your domain in the package overview.
Click Domains verwalten.
In the upper right corner, click the settings icon (⚙️).
Select the DNS tab. Scroll down to TXT und CNAME Records and click verwalten.
Click Eintrag hinzufügen to create a new entry:

flow.heyflow.domains.Click Einstellung übernehmen to save.
Go back to Heyflow and complete your domain connection.
Connecting a root domain
Strato does not allow CNAME records on root domains (e.g. yourdomain.com), only on subdomains (e.g. flow.yourdomain.com).
💡 Solution: Connect a subdomain like www to Heyflow and redirect the root domain to it.
In your Strato account, go to Domainverwaltung > Web Server.
Under Umleitungsziel, enter the full URL of your subdomain (e.g.
https://www.heyflow-domain.de).
Set Umleitungstyp to Permanente Weiterleitung (301).
Click Umleitung aktivieren to enable the redirect.
Now, anyone accessing your root domain will automatically be redirected to your live Heyflow on the subdomain.
